The Prince of Wales Plans to Join COP30 Climate Summit in Brazil

Prince William plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in Brazil in the coming weeks, as announced by royal officials.

The father and son duo appeared together on Thursday evening at a gathering preceding the environmental conference, which is planned for in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

Father and son were in attendance at the Natural History Museum reception, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting organized in partnership with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Dedication

The King has been a longstanding advocate of protecting nature - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil preceding the climate conference.

Palace insiders have characterized William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as stepping up an important role in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the official car, were welcomed attendees such as environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, foreign representatives and government officials.

This participation featured addresses together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The UN meeting will align with the the royal's climate innovation prizes, which will wrap up in Rio de Janeiro the day before he participates in the climate conference on November 6th.

Last week the William characterized the prize competitors as "contemporary champions".

Monarch's Environmental Record

King Charles has been a key figure at earlier environmental conferences, giving the opening address in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the statement: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".

"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to raise awareness about the survival risks facing us over climate change, environmental shifts and ecological decline," the monarch informed delegates.
