Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis show the substance was likely human blood.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking official commented the vandalism left him without words and had to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
